Requirements for entering Brazil

Entry to Brazil from abroad

It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration requirements, before you travel.

Brazil has removed all its sanitary requirements. The government determined that travelers entering Argentina are no longer required to complete an affidavit or present travel medical insurance.

This applies for tourism purposes and connecting flights.

  • Valid passport: with two empty pages available. Expiration date: It must be valid at the moment of travel.
  • To present a valid return ticket.
  • Tourist visa: Effective April 10, 2025, nationals of Australia, Canada, Mexico, and the United States will be required to obtain an eVisa to enter Brazil. This applies to stays for tourism, business, sports, or cultural events. Travelers are advised to:
    • Apply Early: Start your eVisa application at least two months before traveling to avoid delays or disruptions.
    • Prepare Copies: Print and carry two copies of your eVisa when traveling to Brazil.
    • Application Process: Apply for the eVisa through The official Government website.
    • The eVisa is required for each traveler, including infants and children. You can create eVisa applications for either an individual or a family (minimum of 1 and maximum of 10 people).
    • Read about visas to Brazil on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • Passengers in transit are not required to obtain a visa.
  • The yellow fever vaccine is not required to enter Brazil. Travelers wishing to be vaccinated should consider receiving it prior to travel, as local supplies are limited. Please note that the yellow fever vaccine should be administered ten days prior to travel for it to be effective.

Recommended:

  • Travel Medical Insurance is not mandatory to enter Argentina; however, we highly recommend passengers take out travel insurance. Your insurance should provide cover against personal accidents, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability as well as any adventure activities not covered under a standard insurance policy.
