After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, a van will pick you up to begin your excursion towards the Perito Moreno glacier, located 80 km from the city center.

The journey will take us along the edge of Lake Argentino, and you will be able to observe a range of birdlife flying over the region. Of particular note are the black-necked swan, flamingo, condor and eagle. You will be able to admire the Patagonian steppe and learn about the area’s history. Once we arrive at the Los Glaciares National Park, we will go through the “curva de los suspiros” or “sighing curve”, which will be your first viewpoint for a panorama of the Perito Moreno glacier. Then we will head for the port, where we will embark on a 1-hour sail through ice floes and observe the glacier up-close, watching the glacier calving into the waters of Lake Rico.

Finally, we will disembark in front of the Perito Moreno glacier, where we will have access to a series of walkways and viewpoints and will be able to look at the glacier from several perspectives. After exploring the area, there will be time for lunch at a restaurant (not included) before finally returning to the hotel to pack your bags and get ready to head for the town of Chalten, our next destination.

The adventure will begin departing from your hotel at 8am, heading for one of the National Park’s unmissable hiking paths, famous for its impressive views made up of forests, lagoons, and glaciers. The path will take you to the base of the legendary Fitz Roy hill. From the town, we will cover 18km back to our starting point, during which time we will spend around 20 minutes enjoying the landscape in the area around Chalten.

Once we are back at our starting point, we will begin to enter the dense beech forest alongside the River Blanco. After 1 hour’s hiking, we will arrive at the first mirador, with excellent views of the Piedras Blancas Glacier. There, you can rest and enjoy the view, before continuing on the path for around 45 minutes to the Poincenot camp, contained within a beautiful beech forest. Then we will cross the river over a small rope bridge to the Base Camp of Rio Blanco. From there, if you have energy left, we can continue on to the Los Tres Lagoon viewpoint, which includes a 420-meter uphill walk and a 1-hour hike. Once we reach the highest point of the path on the moraine, you will be able to observe the majestic granite hill of Fitz Roy, the Los Tres glacier and its lagoon, which we will walk alongside to the Sucia Lagoon viewpoint and the glacier of the same name. There, you will have time to have lunch, rest, and enjoy the panorama.

On the way back, you will visit the Capri lagoon, highly popular with photography aficionados, before arriving back in Chalten at around 5-6pm.

On this day, we will go on another of the region’s unmissable hikes, exploring the Torre lagoon and contemplating the impressive views of the Torre massif, Cordón Adela, Solo hill and the various glaciers there.

The path leaves from the town itself, with a mild incline for the first few minutes, following the route of the Fitz Roy River. After 20 minutes, you will be able to see the Fitz Roy canyon and its gorgeous waterfalls. The views from here include the unique Solo hill, the Cordón Adela and the imposing Torre hill.

After the first hour hiking, you will arrive at the Torre hill viewpoint where you will rest for a short while and enjoy the gorgeous views of the massif and its glaciers. From there, we will continue walking for 1 hour through a beautiful valley until you reach the Agostini Base Camp. For a few more minutes we will carry on walking until you reach the Torre lagoon, seeing impressive beech forests, ancient glaciers, and a wide variety of birds, including, with a little luck, the Magellanic woodpecker!

Once at the Torre lagoon, we will enjoy the incredible sights of the ice floes caused by the frontal part of the glacier calving. After a rest, time to explore, and lunch, we will begin our return to Chalten.

Note: If passengers want to, the visit can be extended from the Torre lagoon to the Maestri viewpoint. This is 2 kilometers further away, around 45 minutes, along the lagoon to the edge of the forest, which forms a natural balcony over the Torre lagoon and glacier.
