On the second day, we will pick you up from your hotel between 9 and 9:30 am to begin your journey to Valparaíso. We will first stop at the organic Emiliana Vineyard, where a wine sampling tour will await.

Then, we’ll continue our journey towards the city of Valparaíso on the Pacific coast. Once we arrive we will explore the city’s most interesting sites on foot, starting with the port. You’ll learn about the area’s history and the invaluable legacy of its European immigrants before visiting the Alegre and Concepción hills. Along the way, you’ll be able to observe the city’s amazing street art, colorful architecture, different types of churches, squares, and viewpoints, as well as using the public transport favored by the locals: the trolebús and the lifts which connect the city with its various hills.

Once you arrive in the city, a local rep will take you to the Hotel Yegua Loca, where you’ll be spending your first night. After checking in, you’ll have some free time to rest or to explore one of the city’s attractions, such as the uniquely beautiful Punta Arenas Cemetery, the Plaza Muñoz Gamero – declared a Typical Zone – the Sara Braun Palace, the famously cheap Zona Franca, or the Magallanes National Reserve located 5km from the city centre. They are worth a visit.

The first part of the trek will take you through the Ascensio Valley, where you’ll pass through a lenga forest full of trees thousands of years old before continuing over rocky terrain, crossing glacial rivers, and finally be ending up with a steep incline towards the viewpoint.

Once there, you’ll have time to take in the gorgeous landscape and the Torres and Cuernos del Paine rock formations. The return journey consists of a 4-hour descent back to the hotel.

Later, you’ll walk along the shores of Lake Grey, where you’ll rest for a delicious snack, before your much-anticipated sailing trip on the lake itself. This will take around 3 hours and will give you the chance to see the glacier up close, as well as observing Southern beech forests, and – if you’re lucky – spotting endangered South Andean deer. When the sailing trip is finished, you’ll head back to the hotel.
