Overview

With this programme, you will spend a week experiencing some of the main attractions of Chile’s central zone. You will start by visiting the historic center and traditional neighborhoods of the capital, Santiago, and explore the colorful city of Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as seeing the Valle de Casablanca, famous for its vineyards and the best grapes in the world! Finally, you will head over to the Portillo Ski Center in the mountains, where you’ll enjoy all-inclusive service at one of the country’s best centers

Itinerary Details

When you arrive at Santiago airport, a private van will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, once you’re settled into the hotel we’ll begin a City Tour of Santiago at 2 pm approx. We’ll visit various places of significance such as the seat of the government,  the multicultural square Plaza de Armas, the picturesque Central and la Vega Market, the San Cristobal Hill and some historic areas including Lastarria, Bellas Artes, and Santiago Centro. Along the way, you’ll have a taste of Santiago by trying some local food samples at markets and restaurants! Finally, you will be taken back to your accommodation to relax for the evening or head out to dinner.

The second day will begin our journey towards Valaparaiso, famous for being home to the most important South Pacific port of the late 19th and early 20th century, currently the country’s main port for cargo and passenger ships. Once we arrive there, we will begin our tour on foot around the UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting the port and the Plaza Sotomayor y Aníbal Pinto, the Alegre, Concepción y Florida or Artillería Hills, use local public transport such as the trolleybus and one of the region’s elevators. While in the city, we will be able to enjoy the street art as well as various views of the hills, port, and ocean, and explore some of the churches as well as having time for lunch in a local restaurant (not included).

After exploring Valparaiso we will continue the tour towards Casablanca Valley, world-renowned for its wine production. We’ll stop off at the Emiliana vineyard (or similar) for a tour around its incredible organic vines, where we’ll have the opportunity to sample several types of grape along with locally-produced cheese or chocolate. finally we will return to Santiago.

Important: The Portillo Ski Center has scheduled opening dates, so the programme must be coordinated in advance. Below, dates and days for the 4-night stay at the center are detailed:

– Low season: * June 22 – July 6 / August 31 – September 28

– High season: ** July 13 – July 27

After breakfast at your hotel in Santiago, a van will be waiting to take you to the Portillo Ski Center, located in the Andes province. The center is considered to be an excellent skiing destination due to its first-class facilities and services. It has 14 rope bridges, 35 pistes and 500 hectares of land, making it an unmissable destination for lovers of skiing!

At the centre, you will be able to enjoy 4 nights and 5 days of an all-inclusive programme, including 4 daily meals (breakfast, lunch, tea and supper), unlimited access to the rope bridges and all the resort’s facilities such as heated swimming pool, saunas, jacuzzies, yoga classes and more. You will enjoy both sport and relaxation activities.

Once the program is over and depending on your flight time, a van will pick you up from the Portillo Ski Centre and take you to the airport.
